Christians, Beware False Advocates

Christians, Beware False Advocates

Mt 7:15  Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Mt 10:16  Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Christians today are continually being led away by those who claim to be on their side: politicians, entertainers, PASTORS and others who come bearing false friendship and false affiliation.

Satan weakens the church through these false friends.

You may think that friends in high places make you strong, but this is a deception.

The early church was more persecuted and tormented than we can ever imagine.

But did this lack of powerful worldly allies make them weak?

Not at all. They were much stronger than we are now.

Early Christians did not place their faith in megachurch pastors, politicians, the legislative process or their money.

Early Christians had none of those things to count on. They had only God and Jesus Christ.

It took him a century or two, but Satan figured out that Christians will set aside trust in God when they are given other things to trust in. Satan learned that the best way to destroy the church is to lead the church.

In rereading the paragraph above I see it to not be accurate. From the very beginning, Satan was attempting to insert his people into the church.

Satan has supplanted our faith in God with a whole host of earthly power figures that are nothing but idols and Satan uses them to appeal to our own selfish interests.

Through the years he has planted his wolves in sheep's clothing into leadership positions throughout Christianity. These preening snakes keep silent on the cultural decay that is dragging the church into the sewer and silence those who question the liberalization of the church.

The church is becoming more and more like the world. Christians are becoming more and more worldly.

Whether it is your money, your position, your skills, your profession, your religious bureaucracy, your political party...all can be used to pull your faith from God and onto those things.

You are in this world, but you are not of this world. Therefore, you should never trust in the things of this world.

What are you trusting in?
